So this week we had reason to celebrate, our website went live. Also we have potentially secured Cecil a part in a film being shot in Cornwall. So on Saturday we decided to celebrate in the only way we know how…Cocktails!
So we would like to introduce the Aviation – A delicious classic Gin cocktail, which is a refreshing combination of Gin (Tarquins Cornish Gin), Maraschino, Creme de Violette, Lemon and a Luxardo Maraschino cherry for garnish. Created by Hugo Ensslin at New York’s Hotel Wallick in the early 1900’s, the Aviation has become a firm favourite of Gin lovers. Its floral, refreshing and certainly packs a punch. Although the ingredients below may not be a staple of everyones home bar, we do recommend getting a bottle of Maraschino. There are many cocktails that can be created using this wonderfull ingredient so its a usefull addition to any home bar.
Ingredients:
Glass Type: Martini or Coupe
- 60ml Tarquins Gin
- 15ml maraschino liqueur
- 15ml lemon juice
- 7.5ml Creme de Violette
- Lemon zest (to spritz)
- Luxardo Maraschino Cherry for garnish
Method:
Shake the first four ingriendients with ice, and fine strain into glass. Squeeze oil from the lemon zest over the surface of the drink and discard. Garnish with a Luxardo Maraschino cherry.
The final step is to drink quickly and get making another one!
